The Group remains focused on critical issues such as securing a healthy and adequate food supply for a growing population, effecting a lower impact on the environment and ensuring safer operations for Omnia’s employees and customers. 

To enhance Omnia's Employee-Benefit programmes, the Omnia Future Fund was established to help the children/dependents of their employees to benefit from more affordable access to quality education.

The initiative aims to support financially needy students at universities, thereby contributing to the development of higher education graduates who are confident and proud of their African identity and heritage, academically and socially adept, and equipped with the skills and competencies enabling them to become professionals in their fields. 

  1. The bursary only pays for costs that show up on the school invoice (or fee statement) for the year 2026. 
  2. The bursary would also cover any outstanding historical debt from previous years (owed to the school at the time of the awarding of the bursary), as long as the total is below the per-child award limit. 
  3. All successful candidates will be required to provide final 2026 academic results to the sponsor, via the Mila system that will be provided by their service provider (Excel@Uni). 
  4. The funding is for the 2026 academic-year only. 
  5. All applications will be reviewed and approved in line with divisional affordability and eligibility criteria.

A) Important Tax Information

  1. Employees earning below R600,000 in total annual remuneration will not incur a tax liability on the bursary benefit. 
  2. Employees earning above R600,000 in total annual remuneration will incur a tax liability on the bursary benefit. The estimated tax amount will be confirmed in your approval letter and will be deducted from your March payroll. Please ensure you respond by the required acceptance deadline so that the bursary and associated payroll processing can be completed timeously.

 

B) Workback Obligation

  1. By Omnia advancing this bursary to your child / children, you undertake to sign a workback period letter with the company for no less than twelve (12) consecutive months after the successful completion of the year for which the bursary was awarded.
  2. Should you decide to leave the employ of Omnia during the year for which the bursary was paid and/or before completing the workback obligation, you will be liable to refund the pro-rated amount to the company. 

 

Who Can Apply


NOTE: The "Applicant" is the student (not their parents) 

A) EMPLOYEES (the parent/guardian) MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: 

  1. Be a Full time permanent employee of Omnia, employed for over 1 year,
    • earning a maximum annual remuneration of R1.2 million,
    • with a favourable performance and disciplinary record. 
  2. Accept that awards will only be for a maximum of 2 dependents per employee. 
  3. Accept that a parent with more than 1 child; will have to complete an application for each child.
    • Each application requires a unique Applicant email (ie, use a different email for each child/applicant),
    • You may use your personal email for 1, and your work email (or a trusted spouse/family member’s email address) for the other. 
  4. Accept that preference will be given to low-income employees (less than R600K per annum). 
  5. Employees of all races may apply, but preference will be given to BBBEE demographics. 

 

 

B) APPLICANTS (The Child) MUST: 

  1. Be studying (in 2026) for an NQF level of 4 or lower. (NQF level 5 & above must use the Omnia Tertiary Bursary application instead)
  2. Be legal dependents of an Omnia (or a related/subsidiary company) Employee.
    • As evidenced on an Unabriged birth certificate showing employee as parent/guardian OR, A court letter/order proving employee as guardian, OR a certified copy of child passport page that shows employee as parent/guardian.
  3. Be pursuing FULL-TIME study in 2026, of any grade from 1-12;
    • At a South African institution registered with the Basic Education Department
  4. NOT be repeating a grade that was paid for by Omnia FutureFund in the previous year. 
  5. Have successfully completed/passed the previous academic year (in 2025). 

 

C) OTHER NOTES ON REQUIREMENTS:

  1. No limitations on citizenship of parent or child. 
  2. No age restriction on employees. 
  3. Awards will only be for a max of 2 dependents per employee. 
  4. The bursary will be allocated to students at Omnia's sole discretion. 
  5. All successful candidates will be required to provide official end-year 2026 academic results to the sponsor, via the Mila system that will be provided by their service provider (Excel@Uni). 

 

D) Maximum award contribution payable to the institutions:

CATEGORY (C) -- FY26 maximum contributions/Bursary payable to the institutions

  1. C1- Grade R to 12 and NQF level 1 to 4 (child of employee without disability) --> Up to R20 000*
  2. C2- Grade R to 12 and NQF level 1 to 4 (child of employee with disability) --> Up to R30 000*
  3. C3- NQF level 5 to 10 (child of employee without disability) --> Up to R60 000*
  4. C4- NQF level 5 to 10 (child of employee with disability) --> Up to R90 000*

    1. Employee-Parent's certified copy of national ID/Passport (even non-SA) 
    2. Certified copy of proof of Applicant's identity (birth certificate, National ID, or Passport)
    3. Certified Proof of Gaurdianship over Applicant: 
      1. Unabridged birth certificate showing employee as parent/guardian OR, 
      2. A court letter/order proving employee as guardian, OR 
      3. A certified copy of child passport page that shows employee as parent/guardian 
    4. 2025 end-of year Official Final Academic results (official school report) [or police affidavit stating why student wasn't schooling]
    5. 2025 latest (June, etc) Official Academic Results (official school report) [or police affidavit stating why student wasn't schooling]
    6. 2026 Fee statement for the child which shows a statement date more recent than 1 July 2024 
    7. Latest copy of the school’s bank letter  to confirm their bank account (less than 3 months old)
    8. Proof of child’s registration at their educational institution/school (for 2026) – on school letterhead. 
    9. If Parent or Applicant is disabled? Submit Dept. of Labour Employment Equity Act (EEA1) Form AND a Doctors’ Letter *

For applicants under the age of 18, to comply with POPI regulations a signed consent form completed by your parent/legal guardian along with a certified copy of their proof of identity is required.
